2020 Ford Expedition Limited FX4 Off-Road Package

Ford is making it so you no longer have to give up luxury to enjoy the outdoors with the Ford Expedition Limited FX4. The popular FX4 off-road package is now available on 2020 Ford Expedition Limited SUVs, combining the best of both worlds for full-size SUV buyers.

It is estimated that nearly 20 percent of Expedition owners take their vehicles off road, and 45 percent use it for hunting, camping or fishing, according to market research company MaritzCX. Combined with its 9,200 pound towing capacity and seating for seven, the Expedition is the perfect vehicle for any kind of adventurer.

FX4 Expeditions include exclusive 18-inch cast-aluminum rims, 32-inch all-terrain tires and premium, off-road tuned shocks. Seven underbody skid plates to protect vital engine and powertrain components, and chrome-plated running boards with angular step bars are included as well for added convenience.

2020 Ford Expedition SUVs are all powered by a 3.5-liter EcoBoost V6 engine that generates 375 horsepower and is mated to a 10-speed automatic transmission. Expedition models with the FX4 package feature a two-speed electronically controlled four-wheel-drive transfer case, an electronic limited-slip differential and heavy-duty radiator.

Ford’s Terrain Management System provides drivers additional confidence when off-roading in a variety of conditions. The system can control power transfer to the wheels and provide extra traction is snow, dirt, mud, sand and whatever else you may encounter.

Expedition Limited FX4 models get additional luxury features like premium leather-trimmed seating, wood accents, a 360-degree camera system and durable rubber floor liners. Ford has also added its Ford Co-Pilot360 safety technology as standard equipment on every 2020 Expedition.

2020 Ford Escape Hybrid Fuel Economy

The all-new 2020 Ford Escape Hybrid gets a best-in-class combined fuel economy rating of 41 mpg for front-wheel drive models, according to estimates from the EPA. With such incredible fuel economy, the new Escape Hybrid has an EPA-estimated range of 582 miles per tank, meaning you can stop for gas less often.

To ensure there was still enough room for passengers and cargo, Ford has smartly placed the liquid-cooled lithium-ion battery underneath the second-row seats, rather than taking up lots of space in the cargo area. Lots of space and long driving range make the 2020 Ford Escape the perfect road trip vehicle.

The available 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster features an EV coach that lets drivers know if they are using electric or hybrid power, and encourages drivers to adjust their driving style to save fuel depending on their current power needs. Five selectable driving modes help conserve fuel as well, allowing drivers to put the Escape into an eco mode when they don’t require extra power.

Ford was the first automaker to offer a hybrid SUV when the original Escape Hybrid debuted in 2004. The first generation Escape Hybrid proved to be very popular, and owners have been asking for it to make a return. Ford has answered with a revolutionary new Escape Hybrid that offers better efficiency and more features than ever before.

2019 Ford Edge an IIHS Top Safety Pick

The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety has named the redesigned 2019 Ford Edge a Top Safety Pick after it received “good” ratings in all six of the areas tested. Standard safety features like Pre-Collision Assist with Automatic Emergency Braking have also proved effective in avoiding frontal collisions at speeds under 25 mph.

Several different aspects of the vehicle are tested by the IIHS, including body structure, crash prevention features, safety restraints and headlight design. Each item tested contributes to the overall safety of a vehicle, and the Ford Edge with available LED projector headlamps with curve-adaptive technology did very well in all tests.

Ford has made Co-Pilot360 standard on all Ford Edge models, which gives drivers more confidence on the road with a suite of active safety features. The IIHS has rated the Edge’s front crash prevention technology as “superior for its ability to react to an imminent crash with another vehicle.”

If you would like to learn more about the 2019 and 2020 Ford Edge, visit us today at Tommie Vaughn Ford in Houston, TX and take one for a test drive.
