Ford Unveils New 2021 F-150 Full-Size Pickup

With the reveal of the new 2021 Ford F-150, Ford has taken the full-size pickup truck market to a whole new level. As America’s best-selling pickup truck for 43 consecutive years, the F-150 continues to be the number one truck more people turn to when they want to get work done. Ford engineers have purpose-built the 2021 F-150 to be the most productive and toughest F-150 in the company’s history.

One of the biggest additions is the all-new hybrid powertrain in the 2021 Ford F-150. The 3.5-liter PowerBoost offers plenty of power, along with a convenient Pro Power Onboard integrated power generator. This powertrain offers improved fuel economy and extended range, and the PowerBoost hybrid generator can help keep you powered up, whether you are at the worksite or campsite.

The 2021 Ford F-150 keeps its durable and proven fully boxed, high-strength steel frame and military-grade aluminum alloy body. Like always, the new F-150’s bold design is unmistakable, and has a strong and powerful stance both on and off-road. Eleven different grille options, multiple trim levels, numerous color choices and different body styles and engine options mean there is a 2021 Ford F-150 for every truck buyer.

Productivity is also a priority with the new F-150, and the 2021 model features a newly available 12-inch touchscreen with SYNC 4, a highly-practical Interior Work Surface for signing documents and using a laptop, and a Tailgate Work Surface that boosts productivity when working on the tailgate. If you step up to the King Ranch, Platinum and Limited models, you can also take a break using the new Max Recline Seats that fold nearly completely flat.

Ford F-150, Mustang, SYNC 3 Earn Top Marks in J.D. Power Study

J.D. Power, one of the most trusted auto analysts, recently named the Ford Motor Company a top three automaker in the company’s Vehicle Dependability Study. The study, conducted every year, measures problems experienced over the past year by original owners of three-year-old vehicles.

Ford’s excellent performance in the study was due in part to its SYNC 3 infotainment system. Car owners can often find in-car technology to be a source of frustration, and Ford’s SYNC 3 system keeps things simple with an intuitive user interface, easy voice commands and smartphone integration.

The Ford F-150 was also named the top vehicle in the large light-duty pickup truck segment, and the Ford Mustang earned the top spot for sporty midsize cars. New car customers also agree with J.D. Power, as the Ford F-150 and Mustang continue to be America’s best selling truck and world’s best-selling sports coupe.

“For us, high quality means more than a great experience in the first few months of ownership; it includes a great experience throughout a customer’s ownership journey, and these results affirm our commitment to building high-quality vehicles,” said Lind Cash, Ford vice president of Quality and New Model Launch Program.

New Ford Ranger and F-150 Performance Off-Road Suspension

Ford truck customers looking for even better off-road capability from their F-150 or Ranger can now buy after-purchase leveling kits from Ford Performance Parts. This is the first time Ford has offered a package like this, which includes custom-tuned FOX shocks, a 2-inch front lift, new front coilovers and vehicle-specific upper front mounts and locking spring pre-load rings.

“Ford Performance Parts developed these kits to make the off-road experience even better for our Ranger and F-150 customers,” said Eric Cin, global director of Ford Vehicle Personalization and Accessories. “Truck customers are asking for options for increased capability and customization, and the new leveling suspension kits for Ranger and F-150 deliver on that need.”

Once installed, these suspension kits improve ground clearance, approach and breakover angles and give the truck a more level and lifted appearance. The kits were developed and tested by Ford Performance engineers in Borrego, California and in Arizona, which included high-speed off-road driving and low-speed rock-crawling.

These new off-road suspension kits can be installed on any four-wheel-drive 2019 Ranger or 2015-2019 F-150 and come with a Ford Performance Parts limited warranty. They are available to order through Tommie Vaughn Ford and can be installed by our expert service technicians. Contact us today for details and pricing.

All-Electric F-150 Prototype Tows Over 1 Million Pounds

Ford recently showed off a prototype of an all-electric Ford F-150, which the company has been working on and committed to bringing to market in the future. To show off the prototype’s incredible torque provided by the all-electric drivetrain, Ford put the all-electric F-150 pickup to the ultimate test.

Linda Zhang, the chief engineer of the Ford F-150, demonstrated the F-150 all-electric prototype towing 10 double-decker rail cars that were hauling 42 brand new F-150 trucks. The total weight of the trucks and rail cars came in at over 1 million pounds.

The video released by Ford demonstrates the commitment of Ford’s engineers to make sure any electrified version of the legendary F-150 pickup truck continues to have the toughness, capability and innovation that owners across the country have come to expect.

In addition to an all-electric Ford F-150 coming to the market in the future, Ford has announced that it will be introducing an all-new F-150 Hybrid that will go on sale in 2020. Like all F-150 trucks, the new hybrid model will be able to work and play hard.

If you would like to learn more about the 2019 Ford F-150 and all of the advanced technology available in the current F-Series lineup, contact us today at Tommie Vaughn Ford in Houston, TX.
