Ford Ranger Gets Three New Performance Accessory Packages

For all the off-road enthusiasts out there, Ford is offering three new off-road ready performance accessory packages for the midsize Ranger pickup truck. These packages are designed to give the Ranger even more personalization options and capability, letting drivers have even more fun when driving off-road.

These three comprehensive Ford Performance accessory packages can be installed by Tommie Vaughn Ford on 2019 and 2020 4WD Ranger models, and use parts from the established Ford-performance experts at FOX Shocks among others.

The Ford Performance Level 1 package features an off-road leveling kit, FOX performance shocks tuned by Ford Performance Engineers, 17-inch Dyno Gray wheels and Ford Performance bedside graphics and windshield banner. Cost is $2,495 before installation.

The Level 2 performance packages has all Level 1 content, as well as a Ford Performance engine calibration, bringing the EcoBoost 2.3-liter engine up to 315 hp and 370 lb.-ft. of torque, BFGoodrich KO2 tires, a Rigid off-road fog light kit, blue tow hooks and a stainless steel license plate frame. Price is $4,495 before installation.

Those looking to get the most out of their Ranger off-road should look at Level 3, which comes with all Level 1 and 2 content, plus a Rigid 40-inch LED lightbar kit, red tow hooks, an ARB winch-capable front bumper, Ford Performance chase rack and Ford Performance sport exhaust. MSRP for Level 3 is $8,995 before installation.

Ford plans for these accessory packages to be available for order in August for Level 1 and 2, and next summer for the Level 3 package. All-Electric Mustang Cobra Jet 1400 Prototype Dragster

Most drag racing cars are loud and use lots of gasoline to achieve their incredibly low quarter-mile times. But for the All-Electric Mustang Cobra Jet 1400 Prototype Dragster, not a single drop of fuel is used to achieve a low-8-second quarter mile at 170+ mph.

The purpose-built vehicle delivers over 1,400 horsepower and 1,100 lb.-ft. of torque at a moments notice, fully showcasing the benefits of electric propulsion. Without the need to rev up, the all-electric Mustang Cobra Jet can put the power down instantly.

“Ford has always used motorsport to demonstrate innovation,” said Dave Pericak, Global Director of Ford Icons. “Electric powertrains give us a completely new kind of performance and the all-electric Cobra Jet 1400 is one example of pushing new technology to the absolute limit.”

The Cobra Jet 1400 prototype will make its world debut later this year at a drag racing event, where fans can see what this impressive vehicle is capable of on the track. It also honors the original Cobra Jet, which was a major competitor on the drag strip in the late 1960s.

Ford announced the Mustang Mach-E SUV earlier this year, which is the first Mustang vehicle that Ford customers will be able to get their hands on and experience electric power. If you are interested in reserving a Mustang Mach-E, please contact us at Tommie Vaughn Ford in Houston, TX.

Ford Introducing Connected Vehicle Insurance Program

Ford is making it easier to get insurance for your vehicle by partnering with one of the country’s largest insurance companies, Nationwide. Available in 39 states, Ford Insure is available through the FordPass app, and is as simple as filling out a form to sign up.

Policyholders consent to enroll in the SmartRide usage-based insurance program, that shares vehicle connectivity information with Nationwide during the initial six-month policy. 2020 Ford vehicles will track and share distance driven, hard braking and accelerating, night driving and idle time to establish your renewal rate.

By driving conservatively and safely, customers of Ford Insure will be eligible for up to a 40 percent discount to be applied upon policy renewal. Ford Insure customers also have access to Nationwide’s Accident Forgiveness option, and have repairs done using genuine Ford parts.

The goal of Ford Insure and other connected technologies available in Ford vehicles is to make the process of owning and driving a Ford vehicle easier than ever.
