Ford and Telenav Offer Navigation without Cell Service

As handy as the GPS navigation on our phones is, there is not always cell service to keep the information flowing when you are far-off the beaten path. To help drivers get where they need to go when adventuring outside cell service areas, Ford and Telenav are offering a navigation solution for SYNC 4, which is available in the new F-150 and Bronco.

The hybrid navigation system works smoothly whether you have cell service or not and can continue to give maps and directions thanks to maps stored in the system’s memory. And when you have a cellular data connection, you also get all the benefits of real-time services like traffic data, giving you the best of both worlds.

This navigation system also can give specialized routing options for customers who are towing a trailer or going off-roading. For those towing a trailer, the system will give the best route based on the dimensions of the trailer and avoid sharp turns, narrow bridges, and low overpasses. The 4×4 trail maps give off-road enthusiasts more information than you would typically get in a standard navigation app.

In everyday driving, the navigation system can give all kinds of time and money-saving information. It will help you find cheap and available parking, highly rated restaurants in your area, low gas prices and much more. Plus, all of these capabilities can be easily accessed via voice commands with SYNC 4’s digital voice assistant.

If you would like to learn more about SYNC 4 and Telenav navigation, please contact us at Tommie Vaughn Ford in Houston, TX and one of our friendly team members can get you all the information you require.

Ford Completely Reinvents the 2020 Escape

Redesigned from the ground up, the 2020 Ford Escape is the latest in a line of completely reinvented SUVs from Ford. The all-new Escape is sportier than ever before, with a sleek new design, four efficient powertrain options and standard selectable drive modes.

The 2020 Ford Escape is built for the long haul, with each of its available powertrain options offering at least 400 miles per tank of EPA-estimated driving range. If you want even more miles per gallon, the all-new Escape Hybrid and Escape Plug-in Hybrid will offer over 550 miles of extended range.

With influence from high-performance Ford models like the Mustang and Ford GT, the 2020 Escape is one of the most stylish SUVs Ford has ever designed. The new Escape is longer, lower and wider than the current model, giving it a purposeful stance, and the optimized aerodynamic design helps with fuel economy and wind noise.

Like other Ford vehicles, the new Escape is lighter than the previous model with over 200 pounds in weight savings. By using high-strength, lightweight steel and new ultra-high-strength 3D-rolled tubes along the roofline, the new Escape is stronger than ever. Aluminum components like the hood and certain suspension components also help lower the weight.

Useful features like a sliding second-row seat and Active Park Assist 2.0 are unique in the small SUV segment and make the 2020 Escape even better than before. Smart technology like FordPass Connect with 4G LTE Wi-Fi, SYNC 3 with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, Waze navigation and Ford+Alexa make the new Escape one of the most connected vehicles on the road.
