Why the 2020 Ford Super Duty is Best-in-Class
When it comes to delivering high-quality and capable trucks to the most demanding customers in the business, Ford is the clear choice. Ford has once again improved the F-Series Super Duty line of heavy-duty pickup trucks for the 2020 model year, earning best-in-class ratings in several important metrics.
“Ford truck customers are building a better world with Super Duty and we’re helping them work even harder with the most available diesel towing, payload, torque and power you can get in a heavy-duty pickup,” said Mike Pruitt, Super Duty chief engineer.

2020 Ford F-Series Super Duty Gets Big Upgrades
Ford has raised the bar once again with the 2020 F-Series Super Duty line of heavy-duty pickup trucks. The 2020 Ford Super Duty will offer its highest-ever towing and payload ratings, as well as new engine options and class-exclusive technology. Houston Ford Super Duty buyers will love the new upgrades.
“Super Duty customers have demanding and diverse needs – from towing heavy trailers to repairing critical infrastructure,” said Kumar Galhotra, Ford president, North America. “Our new Super Duty has more power, more payload and towing capability and better technology than ever to help these customers build a better world.”
All-new for 2020 is a Ford-built 7.3-liter V8 that joins the standard 6.2-liter V8, giving truck buyers two gasoline-powered options. The third-generation 6.7-liter Power Stroke diesel V8 has also been upgraded with more power and torque and comes standard with the 10-speed heavy-duty TorqShift automatic transmission.
The 2020 Ford Super Duty also receives Pro Trailer Backup Assist for the first time, which makes it easier to backup large trailers into tight spaces. Drivers can use a dash-mounted knob to steer the trailer via the reverse camera with their hands off the wheel. The system works with conventional, gooseneck and fifth-wheel trailer styles.
Additional upgrades for the 2020 Super Duty include standard FordPass Connect with 4G LTE and Wi-Fi, wireless charging, USB-C ports and a variety of advanced active safety features. The styling of the Super Duty has been upgraded with a new front-end design, and interiors of certain trim levels have been updated with new designs and premium materials throughout.
